This festive fall event will feature local breweries, Oktoberfest fare, German wines, a variety of Casino games, and so much more! Heritage on Tap is a fun new fundraiser without the greater formality and higher ticket prices of our Annual Gala!
Last year, feedback from past gala guests and community members indicated a need for a more casual event with lower ticket prices, and we heard you.

General Questions
Is Heritage on Tap replacing the Gala? No, Heritage on Tap is a brand-new fall fundraiser for the Laurel Historical Society. We will hold our Gala every other year, alternating between Heritage on Tap and the Gala, and look forward to hosting the next Gala in spring 2027!
What is Heritage on Tap? It's our new Oktoberfest-themed fundraiser featuring a variety of heavy hors d’oeuvres, desserts, German wines, and local craft beers. Enjoy music, casino games, and raffle prizes at our new venue: the Laurel-Beltsville Senior Activity Center.
When is the event? Saturday, October 17, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM (rain or shine).
Where is the event located? Laurel-Beltsville Senior Activity Center, 7120 Contee Rd, Laurel, MD 20707.
Who can attend, and how much are tickets? Anyone 21 and older can attend! All guests must purchase a ticket in advance:
Will there be a sit-down dinner? No sit-down dinner will be served. Instead, enjoy a heavy spread of Oktoberfest appetizers, desserts, wine, and local beer throughout the evening.
Will there be non-alcoholic drinks available? Yes. We will serve a variety of sodas alongside water.
What does my ticket include? Your ticket covers all food, drinks, and $200 in “Fun Bucks” or play money for casino games. Turn in your casino winnings for raffle tickets to win prizes!
Can I buy tickets at the door on the day of the event? No, tickets must be purchased in advance and will not be available at the door.
Can I buy tickets or play money ahead of time with a check or in person if I don't have a credit card? Yes, you may purchase event tickets and additional play money in-person at the Laurel Museum during our regular open hours, Friday to Sunday from 12 to 4 PM.
What else can I do if I don't play casino games? We will have a variety of activities to entertain guests throughout the evening. As we have done at past Galas, we will have music and activities to enjoy at the event. Learn about Laurel’s heritage with our trivia rounds, enjoy a guided beer tasting in the Biergarten with information on the history of beers, and a Stein holding competition.

Is parking free? Yes, the Laurel-Beltsville Senior Activity Center offers ample free parking, including designated accessible spaces near the main entrance.
Is the venue accessible for guests with disabilities or mobility limitations? Yes, the venue is fully accessible. If you need specific accommodations, please contact us at [email protected].
Can I bring my own portable chair? We will have ample seating at the venue, and guests do not need to bring their own portable chair. Event seating will be open seating, with the exception of event sponsors. All sponsors will have reserved seating at tables closest to the stage, indicated by signage on the table with either guest or company names. Tables without signage are open to any guest.
Will there be outdoor activities and outdoor seating? Yes, there will be tables and chairs in the courtyard/outside patio or “Biergarten.” We invite you to join us outdoors, weather permitting, for guided beer tastings throughout the evening.

What is the dress code? Casual and comfortable! Oktoberfest attire is warmly welcomed if you'd like to dress up, but it is entirely optional.
Is there assigned seating? Assigned seating is limited to tables/chairs purchased by event sponsors. Sponsors will receive reserved seats at tables closest to the stage, and reserve tables will be indicated with table signage with either guest or company names. All remaining seating in the Great Room and outdoor patio will be open seating.
What if I win a raffle prize and cannot take it home tonight? We encourage taking prizes home that evening. If needed, speak with a staff member or volunteer to arrange pickup at the Laurel Museum during public hours (Friday–Sunday, 12:00 PM–4:00 PM).
