In 1811 Nicholas Snowden built a grist mill on this site. In 1824 it became a cotton mill and in 1835 Horace Capron enlarged the mill to produce canvas duck for Baltimore Clipper ships and Conestoga wagons. The site now contains the Laurel community swimming pool. Approx. 3″x3″
