We hope to see you at our upcoming events!
New Exhibit Opens: Sunday, February 15, 2026 (Noon to 4PM)
Beyond the 4th: Stories of Laurel's Freedom Celebrations. This exhibit will explore how Laurel celebrated the 1876 Centennial, the 1926 Sesquicentennial, and the 1976 Bicentennial, events that were celebrated nationally as well as locally. Laurel is also home to celebrations that reflect our community's broader understanding of freedom. This year's exhibit will go beyond the July 4th events and highlight Laurel's Emancipation Proclamation Celebration, Pride Celebration, Hispanic Heritage Month festivities, and more.
The Laurel Historical Society reserves the right to use images and photographs taken at our events for publicity and marketing purposes.
Made possible in part through funding provided by the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, Department of Parks and Recreation, Prince George’s County
