Volunteer with the Laurel Historical Society

Volunteers are a vital part of the Laurel Historical Society!

They fill a variety of roles and opportunities, such as giving tours, helping with camps, and behind the scenes work that keeps the organization functioning.

Volunteer Opportunities

•Front desk and docent
Greet and orient visitors during open hours
Give tours to visitors and groups
•Museum Shop
Facilitate shop purchases on-site and online
Track inventory, update displays, and purchase new items 
•Collections and Exhibits
Help researchers and complete research requests
Assist with collection processing and accessioning
Participate in exhibit planning, research, and installation
•Special Events
Annual Gala – planning, decorating, setting up
Holiday House Tour – planning, selecting, researching
•Public Programs and Education
Assist with planning and day-of support for lectures, workshops, children’s days, summer camps, and more!
