Please consider sharing your diaries, pictures, and stories with the Laurel Historical Society so we can preserve them for future generations! Send your submission to info@laurelhistoricalsociety.org.*

The Laurel Historical Society offers a variety of educational resources for teachers, educators, and youth leaders. We work with public and private schools, home school groups, scout groups, and summer camps. Please contact the Museum to make arrangements for your group!
Click here for our Educator's Resource brochure.
Diven's Den:
This interactive, STEAM-based children's area is perfect for all ages. It is open during the Museum's normal open hours, and ties in with the current exhibit. Please read more information here.
Tours: By appointment.
The Museum is a great destination for field trips! Subjects can include history and social studies, math, science, engineering, and environmental science. Students can learn about the current exhibit, play in Diven's Den, and take a hike over to the mill dam ruins or Casula Point. Activities can include a scavenger hunt or letterboxing.
We are happy to work with educators to match tours and activities to fit specific curriculum needs. Examples of programs include:
- Mill life
-Tools of the trade
-Native cultures and archaeology
-Maryland
Special Needs:
We strive to make the Museum accessible to children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We have sensory resource kits available for use at the Museum and the public spaces on the first floor and basement levels are wheelchair accessible.
Internships:
The Laurel Historical Society has a need and desire to work with college interns and student volunteers to complete projects at the Museum that will provide real-world applications for studies in history, library science, and the humanities. More information about potential projects can be found here. Interested students should contact the Executive Director.
