Coronavirus Diary
We are living in historic times and sharing a single event with the entire world. We encourage you to use this diary template to record your thoughts, feelings, and activities during this time. You can write stories, draw pictures, or even take videos! As the stewards of Laurel's history, it is important to collect and document what is happening in the world around us as it takes place. Please consider sharing your diaries, pictures, and stories with the Laurel Historical Society so we can preserve them for future generations! Send your submission to info@laurelhistoricalsociety.org.*
*Note: By sending your story or photo to us you are making an unconditional donation of the material to the Laurel Historical Society. The LHS reserves the right to keep, lend, or otherwise dispose of the donated material, and may use the material on our website, for social media or other postings, in promotional materials or in future exhibits or outreach activities.

The Laurel Historical Society offers a variety of educational resources for teachers, educators, and youth leaders. We work with public and private schools, home school groups, scout groups, and summer camps. Please contact the Museum to make arrangements for your group!

Click here for our Educator's Resource brochure.

Diven's Den: Now temporarily closed.
This interactive, STEAM-based children's area is perfect for all ages. It is open during the Museum's normal open hours, Wednesdays/Fridays 10-2 and Sundays 1-4. Please read more information here.

Tours: Not currently offered.
The Museum is a great destination for field trips! Subjects can include history and social studies, math, science, engineering, and environmental science. Students can learn about the current exhibit, play in Diven's Den, and take a hike over to the mill dam ruins or Casula Point. Activities can include a scavenger hunt or letterboxing.

We are happy to work with educators to match tours and activities to fit specific curriculum needs. Examples of programs include:
- Mill life
-Tools of the trade
-Native cultures and archaeology
-Maryland

Special Needs:
We strive to make the Museum accessible to children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We have sensory resource kits available for use at the Museum and the public spaces  on the first floor and basement levels are wheelchair accessible.

Internships:
The Laurel Historical Society has a need and desire to work with college interns and student volunteers to complete projects at the Museum that will provide real-world applications for studies in history, library science, and the humanities. More information about potential projects can be found here. Interested students should contact the Executive Director.
