Snapshots in Time: Our Community in 1910 and 2010
Snapshots in Time: Our Community in 1910 and 2010 focused on community and its many meanings. The exhibit used photos from the Museum’s historic Sadler Collection taken in the early 1900s and contemporary photos from the Laurel community. It challenged visitors to examine their own ideas of “What is Community?” by comparing and contrasting how these are the same or have changed in the past 100 years. We hope those who came to the new exhibit took the opportunity to ask themselves how they define community today and how that may be the same or different from 100 years ago.

Community Conversations
In one corner of our exhibit, we asked visitors to take part in a "Community Conversation". Visitors could sit down, take a break, and engage in a conversation about what their life would be like if they lived in another time, looked different, or were a different gender.
